With our latest release of the app, we introduced two new tools to empower sellers on Poshmark take even more control of their closets, merchandise, and interactions with potential buyers: “My Closet Stats” and “Not for Sale” listing status.

1. “My Closet Stats”: My Closet stats gives you important information about your closet, your sales history, and the experience you are delivering to your buyers. This page and the information included on it is private (for your eyes only!) and meant to help you continue to succeed. To get to your closet stats, click on your profile tab at the bottom right of the app > click on “My Closet Stats.”

We’d love to hear your feedback on this tool, Posh sellers! Please click through to this PM Editor listing and let us know what other information about your closet you’d find helpful for selling more on Poshmark.

image

Examples of the type of information you’ll find in “My Closet Stats”:

  • Available listings: The total number of unsold listings available for sale in your closet. Closets with a great number of “Available Listings” are more likely to sell an item to a buyer (we recommend having at least 10 available listings in your closet).
  • Self-Shares: The total number of times you have shared a listing from your closet in the last 30 days. Sharing your listings to your followers and to parties will increase the number of potential buyers viewing the listing and your closet.
  • Listings Sold: The total number of listings you have sold in your closet. (Special kudos if you’re one of the top 10% sellers on Poshmark - keep it up!).
  • Total Earned: The total amount of money you have made through your sold listings on Poshmark, less Poshmark fees.
  • Days to Ship: The average time you have thus far taken to ship your orders to buyers. We calculate the time between when the order was placed and when your package was accepted by the US Postal Service. The faster you ship an order to a buyer, the faster she can start enjoying her purchase! If you delay shipping an order to a buyer, you may harm her purchase experience and reduce the chance she shops your closet again.

2. “Not for Sale” Listings: You now have a clear way to tell buyers which listings are no longer available in your closet. This includes items sold in bundles, reserved listings, notes, or purchases that you just want to share with other Poshers (#PoshFinds!). Listings that are marked “Not for Sale” don’t have a blue “Buy Now” button, but others will still be able to see, like, share, and comment on them.

image

To mark a listing as “Not for Sale”: click the “Edit” icon on the listing details page > select “Mark as Not for Sale.”

To make one of these listings available for purchase: click the “Edit” icon on the listing details page > select “Mark as Available.”

Note: Poshmark’s minimum listing price is $3. Listings with a $0, $1, or $2 listing price are automatically set to “Not for Sale” listing status and won’t have a “Buy Now” button. For more info, please check out our FAQs here.

Over the past year, you’ve given us valuable feedback about ways we could help you achieve even greater success selling fashion items in your closet. One of your most frequent requests is for lower shipping fees to encourage buyers to purchase more. We’ve also heard that you love the ease and simplicity of selling on Poshmark, but we know we can do more. Therefore, we’re so excited to announce that we have partnered with the United States Postal Service (USPS) to bring you PoshPost, a new, simpler shipping label exclusive for Poshers.

PoshPost officially launches this Thursday, March 20th at 12:00 a.m. PT. If you have any questions, check out our FAQs. We’ll also be taking questions here.

Introducing $4.99 shipping on all orders.  We will reduce the shipping rate for buyers from $6.99 to $4.99 for any order under twenty-five dollars. This means that all orders, no matter the price, will ship at the same low rate of $4.99. We know your buyers will be very excited about this change, which means more sales for everyone. Think of this as a permanent shipping promo! Learn more.

Up to 5 pounds for free with PoshPost.  In addition to continuing to provide a free shipping label when you make a sale, PoshPost increases your free weight allowance to 5 lbs. (up from the current two pound limit). Now you can ship a large bundle, those knee-high boots, or that handbag with a lot of hardware, worry free and without having to pay for an upgraded label. The new 5 pound label helps keep selling on Poshmark simple and fun.  Learn more.

Flat Poshmark commission for orders less than $15.  In order to support lower-priced shipping for all orders and provide a more robust label to simplify shipping we are making our first ever change to our commission. Beginning March 20, 2014, we will be changing our commission for orders less than $15 to a single flat rate of $2.95. Commission for orders $15 and up will remain unchanged at 20% of the selling price. This also means that all items below $3 will no longer be available for purchase on Poshmark. Learn more.

To give you a better sense of how these changes might affect you, here are two examples:

EXAMPLE 1:

  • Listing: White blouse with black buttons
  • Sale price: $12
  • Weight: 0.5 pounds

image

EXAMPLE 2:

  • Listing: Bundle (3 pairs of shoes, 2 tops)
  • Sale price: $35
  • Weight: 4 pounds

To say that PoshFest was a success would be an understatement, so we’d rather say it through pictures and our favorite soundbites. For those who couldn’t make it this year, we hope that this short and sweet recap will inspire you to join us for all the Posh fun next year:

image

To welcome all our PoshFest attendees, Manish introduced a very special someone who couldn’t make it, but wanted to send us her Posh love: Rachel Zoe!

Inspirational Speakers

image

image

One of the most rewarding things about the Poshmark experience is hearing the stories from some remarkable women. Our inspirational speakers, Simonett Pereira and Natasha Bontempo, definitely have a sparkle about them, and they inspire us to knock down any obstacles - no matter how big!

"Jumpstart Your Style" Panel

image

This fashion-filled talk was moderated by our very own style maven and co-Founder Tracy Sun! She did a phenomenal job engaging our panelists Tracy Espeleta, Jennifer Taler, Mollie Ruiz-Hopper and Simonett Pereira.

We learned that the way you style yourself is the first impression you make with people, that you should never discount the power of a great pair of shoes or a wonderful handbag and that style is bigger than what we wear - it’s how we carry ourselves!

"Secrets to Selling Success" Panel

image

The infamous and oh-so-amazing Kate Franco of Poshmark’s Merchandising Team led an engaging discussion on a topic that all Poshers want to know about: secrets to being a successful seller. With panelists and power Poshers - Brenda Edmondson, Kathy Adams, Alexandra Marquez and Hannah Ouimet - this panel shared so many insights on why passion has a purpose in sales.

We learned that Posh power sellers take into account that time zones extend your window for selling, that building a following through external networks like Twitter or a blog increases your selling influence and the great packaging definitely builds your closet’s brand.

image

Keynote Speaker: Manish Chandra

image

From the mind that started it all, PoshFest attendees got an insider look on the company from CEO and Founder, Manish Chandra! It was completely mind-blowing to find out that the number of listings on Poshmark grows by a full Nordstrom’s store every two weeks!

Even though we at PMHQ hear him talk about Poshmark every day, we still get a little starry-eyed hearing about the future and new features of our app.

"Marketing Yourself in the Virtual World" Panel

image

Maria Morales - Poshmark’s own Senior Marketing Manager and all-around queen of class - moderated the panel on how to market yourself and your closet like a seasoned Poshmark pro. Panelists Kate Heimann, Kathleen Ensign, Caroline R. Fabacher and Kiki Nguyen shared their tips and tricks for Posh popularity!

We learned that Instagram is a great place to find your target market, that spreading the Posh love and sharing the listings of closets with a lot of followers will increase your own closet’s exposure and accurate sizing with the help of a measuring tape will save you time!

Product Chat

image

Poshmark’s beautiful and brainy product gals - Tracy Espeleta and Kate Franco - got up-close and personal with future plans for app features and some extra-special surprises!

Founder’s Panel

image

The Founders took the PoshFest stage to answer a few of the burning questions you had about the app, the future of Poshmark and their preference for boxers or briefs.

This insightful and intimate talk with the Founders did teach us that private chat on the app isn’t a possibility for now, neither are hashtags, that we’re looking into new features and programs that improve the new seller experience and that having a majority of women in the office definitely makes it a warm (and sparkly) place to be.

As for answering the age-old question of “boxers or briefs,” our very classy Founders replied with a lot of chuckling, but no answer. The Posh world might never know!

Of course, we ended the day with a Posh Party - Vegas style!

Poshmark got a chic new makeover - so fresh, so clean, so fab! We’ve been anticipating the launch of Apple’s newest operating system, iOS7, and working hard behind the scenes to bring you to a spankin’ new look to Poshmark’s iPhone and iPad apps that take advantage of all of the goodies that iOS7 brings. This includes an update to the appearances of our buttons, icons, navigation bars, and so much more!

image

To update to Apple’s new operating system:

  1. Be sure to first back up the data on your device to the Cloud (see more info on how to do this here).
  2. Open up the “Settings” app on your iPhone/iPad.
  3. Tap on “General.”
  4. Tap on “Software Update.”
  5. Tap on the “Download and Install” button.

Once you update to iOS7, your iPhone and iPad will automatically update the Poshmark app to our latest version - and one of the greatest things about iOS7 is that all future updates to any apps you have installed will automatically update for you!

So, go on! Update to iOS7 and celebrate our fancy new look with us!

Happy Poshing!

PS: If you don’t upgrade to iOS7 right away, you will still be able to update the app. However, if you’re on iOS6 or below, you will just see minor bug fixes and performance improvements.

Ever notice the little yellow ‘Reserve’ flag at the bottom of a listing? Have you come across a listing that says “Reserved” in the title with an outrageous price tag? Find out what they mean below!

Yellow Reserve Banner: This automatically appears on a listing when a buyer clicks on the ‘Buy Now’ button on the listing. It remains there for 10 minutes while they enter their information and complete the purchase. This flag is controlled by the system and there is no way to manually add it to a listing.

image

How to Manually Reserve an Item: Poshmark does not currently support item reservations. However, some sellers elect to place an item as “Not for Sale,” a feature that clearly tells buyers which listings are no longer available in your closet.

At Poshmark, we’re all about helping you fall in love with your closet again. How? By selling the fashions you love, but no longer wear and using the money you make to buy what you really love today!

1. List an item for sale. It’s easy and fun! Snap photos of the item you want to sell with your phone, fill out basic information, and…voila! You’ve created a listing!

image

2. Your item sold! Now what? Print out the shipping label we send you via email, attach it to your package, and send it off USPS. Poshmark will handle everything else!

image

3. Poshmark will release your money to you once your buyer accepts your item (or 3 days have passed since she received the item)!

image

4. Take your earnings and use them to buy that designer handbag or gorgeous heels you “Liked” on Poshmark and can’t stop thinking about! Win-win!

Women across the country are making hundreds, if not thousands of dollars a month right NOW. The best part? They’re doing it all through Poshmark! Read on to get inspired by three real - and very different - Poshmarkers.

Case Study #1: A 20-something southern California Poshmarker fell in love with how easy the entire selling process is on Poshmark and in just four months, she has been able to sell over $15,000 worth of merchandise. Poshmark has given her the opportunity to make money (and have fun doing so), while being a stay-at-home mom to her young daughter.

Case Study #2: This 47-year old Texan makes $150-$200 a month on Poshmark selling clothes that don’t fit or that she no longer has interest in wearing. She loves that Poshmark gives her the opportunity to get prices for her items that she normally wouldn’t get at consignment stores.

Case Study #3: A savvy 30-something in Boston loves using Poshmark to connect with stylemates from across the country. She regularly shops their closets on Poshmark…using the $300-$500 a month she’s making by listing her own items!

Create listings, sell items, make money. We think that’s about as good as it gets.

Did you know that closets with more than 10 listings sell more than those with less? That’s right! One of the secrets to being a successful seller on Poshmark lies in your very own closet.

A full closet is a trustworthy closet. Show potential buyers that you’re serious about your Poshmarking! By regularly adding items to your closet, fellow Poshmarkers will trust not only your style, but they’ll also see you’re active and mean serious fashion business!

image

Variety is key. Think of your Poshmark closet as a your virtual boutique. The more variety and types of merchandise you have, the likelihood that a potential buyer finds something she wants to buy is much higher. Score!

image

Bundle this, bundle that. The more listings you have in your closet, the more likely it will be that you sell bundles! Bundles are individual listings that include multiple items from your closet and are sold to one buyer (so they only have to hit the buy button and pay for shipping once). Cha-ching!

Note: Please remember that our standard shipping label is for a 2 lb. package. If your bundle is greater than 2 lbs., you will need to upgrade the label. You can do this directly from the app.

Selling on Poshmark is not only as easy as 1-2-3, but it’s also fun and empowering! With Poshmark, you’ll fall in love with your closet…again!

Create a listing in seconds. We make it super simple for you to list an item for sale on Poshmark. Simply snap a few pictures or upload them from your album, give your item a title, short description, set your price and - VOILA! Your item is available for women across the country to buy! Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Name your own price. Take control over your closet with Poshmark! Unlike your typical consignment store, Poshmark let’s you decide how much you want to get in return for your item when it’s sold. So, go ahead - list that Louis Vuitton purse you never wear or those Alexander Wang booties that are way too high for you and find them a new home…at your own price terms!

It’s free to list and sell. Listing and selling on Poshmark is not only quick, but it’s free, which means no need to worry about hidden listing fees or pesky credit card fees (we take care of that for you). To top it off, we provide you with a pre-paid, pre-addressed shipping label once your item sells, so all you have to do is box it up, print and attach our label, and send it off via USPS.

What do you have to lose? Go ahead, list your closet and start making money!

Poshmark anywhere, anytime. Because Poshmark is mobile, we make it convenient for you to instantly communicate with others in the community, sell, and shop at any time of the day, no matter where you are!

In Hawaii? Poshmark after dinner with the late-night crowd who can’t sleep in New York City. Waiting for your friends to arrive for happy hour? Open up Poshmark and find a new necklace to wear on your weekend date. Commuting on the train? Pass the time (and have plenty of fashion fun) by joining our daily Posh Parties or shopping past parties - straight from your phone!
