We know how much our Community members mean to us but it’s always fun to learn more about our users and what Poshmark means to them! This week we reached out to Fran to find out when her Poshmark obsession began and meet her cute little listing helper, Finch.
How did you find Poshmark?
My amazing and tech-savvy sister-in-law told me about it. I signed up and was hooked. Initially, I just needed to give my closet a good cleaning, but since then it has just evolved into another excuse to continue shopping excessively.
What’s your Poshmark routine?
Hmm, does obsession qualify as a routine? Poshmark has become my relaxation, in between work and school. I love just browsing and sharing listings. In the morning I start my day of with reading the news, coffee, and Poshmark, and then throughout the day Poshmark essentially fills the gaps.
Where do you like to shop, besides Poshmark?
Zara is probably my fave right now, but I also love a good sale just about anywhere. I am an equal opportunity shopper. I love shopping in any form — from clothes and shoes to grocery shopping!
Define your closet personal style.
I think that my style is pretty casual, I love neutrals, skinny jeans, jackets, and I LOVE great accessories. I am always on the hunt for my next great watch or pair of boots and truly believe that a girl can never have too many pairs of jeans or too many pairs of shoes. I can be really picky so sometimes it takes me months and lots of shopping around to find just what I’m looking for. Right now it’s the perfect leather jacket. Still hunting…
Where did you get your username?
Highly uncreative, just my name, and I live in Portland, OR (PDX airport). I tried to think of something that I wouldn’t be tired of in six months.
What was your best purchase on Poshmark?
A pair of tall black leather Juicy Couture boots that I got for about 60% below retail! They are gorg and were brand new!
What makes a good buyer?
I appreciate promptness and follow through. If you ask for a reserve, you actually buy.
Where do you take your cover shots? Does someone help you?
Usually at home in my closet and you’ll often catch a portion of one of my pugs in the photos also. I am in awe of the amazing cover photos that I see all over Poshmark; this is another of my Summer goals: up my cover shot photo taking game!
Thanks for taking the time to speak with us, Fran! Happy Poshmarking!

This week the Community Team brings you a Posh Tip shared by one of our community members in the app. The USPS Mobile App offers a variety of useful features that all Poshmarkers can utilize to make their lives more streamlined when it comes to purchasing and selling. What’s not to love?
For starters, we love that you can track all of your packages right from the app (fig.3). Simply scan the bar code of your sale’s shipping label or type in the tracking number of your purchase. You’ll have the ease and comfort of carefully monitoring your package’s progress as it moves through the mail stream at the tips of your fingers. (Gotta love technology!)
The other thing we find useful in the app is the “Schedule A Pick Up” feature (fig.4). We understand that many of you have busy lives. Take the opportunity to utilize USPS’ scheduling feature and have your parcel picked up to ensure your order is shipped and delivered in a timely manner. Everyone loves receiving packages on time, so if you can’t make it to the post office or a blue mail box, consider scheduling a pick up.
Lastly, we are big fans of the “Get Supplies” (they’re free!) option (fig.5). Sometimes you don’t have a spare unmarked box at home and need one from USPS. Take advantage of their in-app feature to order some so that you always have them handy when you’re ready to ship a package. Just be sure that they’re plain Priority Mail boxes, not Flat Rate, Regional Rate, or Express Mail.
We want to thank and give a huge shout out to our community member, Lilac, who took the time to share this information in her closet this week. We love seeing useful information shared within the community and hope everyone can benefit from this week’s Posh Tip!

Here are five tips that will help get your listings marked with a red SOLD banner:

Tip #1: Style Your Covershot.
Your Covershot is the very first photo of your listing and remember, first impressions count! Make sure your Covershot is well-lit and clear. Also, wear your item and style it your way. Listings with Covershots like these tend to sell much faster!
See additional tips on taking a great Covershot.

Tip #2: Describe Your Items Accurately.
Take time to accurately describe the item you are listing. Include info such as the condition the item is in, if it runs true to size, and tips on what to pair it with. Answering your potential buyers’ questions up front will help them decide to hit that “Buy” button just a bit faster.

Tip #3: Attend Posh Parties.
Posh Parties are shopping events in the app where hundreds of thousands of users log in at the same time to shop and share listings. Build an audience by sharing your listings at a Party.

Tip #4: Be Responsive.
When someone posts a question about your listing, respond promptly. If you wait too long, your potential buyer could lose interest. Remember, your newsfeed is your friend!

Tip #5: Engage with Others.
Be active in the Poshmark community. Find others with the same shoe size and follow them. Share listings that you think are fantastic. Trust us when we say that the love you help spread will get returned…and could result in a sale!
Happy Poshmarking!
