Have you ever wondered why some listings sell like a hotcakes and others sit in your closet longer? Today’s Posh Tip explores marketing your closet for the right time of year.
We think it’s valuable to keep in mind the current season, the upcoming season and the overall seasonality of your garments. When listing items in your closet, take into account what the Community may be shopping for in the coming weeks.
A helpful hint: ask yourself what you’ve been shopping for lately. Your thin, lightweight tops, silky shorts and strappy sandals will likely get more interest during the warmer months. When you consider that people are looking to buy in advance of the upcoming season (about six to eight weeks), in- and pre-season items can call for a higher price as they’re more in demand.
At the same time, if you’d really like to move your inventory of thick, chunky sweaters and knee-high leather boots in those same warmer months, consider lowering your price to attract buyers. Nothing is more drool-worthy than a gorgeous, warm coat or jacket with an equally enticing price tag.
In the end, an AH-MAZING deal is an amazing deal regardless of season, but after surveying the PMHQ team, we find our listings get swooped up quicker when we’re catering to the season.
Mirror, mirror on the wall, what is our favorite trend of all? The favorite trend of right now, at least, is mirror print. There’s something fun yet sophisticated about the colorful kaleidoscope pattern when combined with a sleek silhouette. It’s easy to get the look when you shop these closets and more on Poshmark!
By now, we all know the importance of an A+ covershot. It’s your first, and sometimes only, chance to get someone to notice the item you’re selling–so you’d better make it count! A well-styled snapshot just may be your ticket to your next Poshmark sale. Looking for a bit of inspiration? Peep these pretty photos that caught our eye lately and be sure to follow our Covershot inspiration board on Pinterest!
It should be no surprise that we here at PMHQ are seriously into shopping. One upside to this—besides a cute pair of shoes, of course—is that inevitably an item or two (or three!) will make its way to our own Poshmark closets once our actual closets start to overflow.
Other than creating an awesome Covershot, one important thing to keep in mind is how to appropriately describe the condition of an item. Whether it’s that purse you just had to have one minute but ended up sitting in your closet the next or a summer dress that you’re ready to say goodbye to, we’ve got some tips on how to best describe your item’s condition.
Have an impulse purchase you never got around to wearing? If it’s still got tags attached, it’s NWT. New With Tags items are brand new, never worn, with the tags still attached. Is your item is brand new but has no tags? Easy—that’s NWOT (New Without Tags).
(Also, if some of these acronyms have you scratching your head, find a helpful list of oft-used abbreviations in our Poshmark glossary.)
We’ve all been there—sometimes you wear an item, only to find it just doesn’t work for you. If something has been worn once or twice but has little to no signs of wear, it’s Like New. Even if you’ve worn an item just once, it’s always a good idea to give it a thorough inspection, just in case.
Have a top or pair of shoes that no longer makes it into your #ootd rotation? Your preloved item could be another Posher’s new favorite. Items in excellent condition are gently used, with little signs of wear. Just be sure to include any details that your buyer should take note of before she hits that “Buy” button—examples include any pilling, pulls, or loose stitches.
Time to let go of an old favorite? Be sure to give it a thorough inspection and let your buyer know of any signs of wear, fading or discoloration, and additional details that should be noted. Be sure to double and triple check the item—sometimes it’s easy to look over little details like seams, straps, and zippers. If you need to show a lot of detail, create a second listing for your item.
We’re wild for fun and eye-catching prints at PMHQ so it’s no wonder that we fell in love with A’s closet when we stumbled across it. Fully stocked with everything from florals to animal prints (and a whole lot more!), we couldn’t help but to be inspired to dream up new ways to mix prints. Not to mention that we are completely enamored of the highly stylized covershots used to display the threads in her closet. You know the drill: get on over and shop before your favorite piece is gone!

We have a little mantra when it comes to listings: the more, the better! And sometimes, four photos just aren’t enough when it comes to showcasing that awesome handbag or fab pair of shoes that you’ve got listed in your closet.
Here’s an easy solution: Create another listing specifically for additional photos of your item. A second listing can be helpful to highlight any additional details that you’d like buyers to take note of. Whether it’s to show extra angles of a dress or some minor wear to a handbag, a second—or third—listing can give your buyer all the info she needs before she hits that “Buy” button. Just follow the steps below and get to listing!
1. Create a new listing for the additional photos. Take clear, detailed shots and make sure to title the listing appropriately!
2. Mark the item as “Not for Sale.”
3. Direct buyers to the additional listing and tag them in the comments!
The Community team is digging Ann's closet for jaw-dropping footwear and highly covet-worthy handbags. Whether you're looking for sky-high stilettos or stylish flats, a new day bag or weekend tote to match, we encourage you to get it while it's hot!

If you couldn’t tell, we’re excited for spring this year. So we asked Poshers and style bloggers, Alex of Stylelista Confessions (@stylelista) and Jen of Life Unrefined (@lifeunrefined) to join in on the fun. Check out their top spring trends spotted on Poshmark.
Favorite Spring Trend
I have two spring favorite trends, one being pastels and other being boyfriend jeans. Pastels basically are what spring is to me and pairing it with boyfriend jeans is the perfect combination. I love the soft hues of pastels and with my lighter skin, it pairs well for me.
Stripes or Florals?
AH I love stripes and florals equally but right now I am definitely leaning towards stripes since you can really wear them season after season.
I get my style inspiration from tons of places but a big one is fellow style bloggers who’s style is similar to mine. I love reading fashion magazines and taking the runway trends and making them realistic for my budget.

Favorite Spring Trend
Though not exactly a new trend, I love that the combination of black and white is still going strong.
Florals or Stripes?
Ooh that’s a tough one. Since it’s Spring, I’m gravitating towards the floral prints that are everywhere right now.
From my fashion blogging friends! And flipping through the latest J.Crew catalog.
