So you’ve been invited to host a Posh Party–congrats! You have your party date confirmed, but now what? Co-hosting these virtual, in-app parties can seem overwhelming and exciting, all at the same time. That’s why we’ve put together some information on how to host a stellar Posh Party!
Spread the Word! What’s a party if all of your closest gals aren’t there with you? Tell all of your friends and family about your party and get them to attend. And don’t forget about your social media accounts! Share your party using the hashtag #PoshParty on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blog, or anywhere else you have an online presence. The more, the merrier!
Know Poshmark’s Guidelines! As a party host, it’s extremely important that you know and embrace our guidelines. Violations in your closet may delay your Posh Party hosting date–and nobody wants that! You’ll also want to make sure your host picks are not in violation of any rules. Some key points to remember: only women’s fashion and accessories are allowed, all transactions or conversations should stay within the Poshmark platform, and anything that may violate copyright or trademark laws is forbidden.
Stock Your Closet! Having a wide variety of merchandise in your closet is a great way for Poshers to see your personal style. Not to mention, a full closet will get them excited for your host picks and can lead to more sales with the extra exposure that comes with being a host.
Tune In! Evening Posh Parties go from 7pm to 9pm PST. You don’t need to be there for the entire two hours, or even right at the start of the party, but do make sure you attend long enough to share the required 50-100 listings.
Be Selective! We do ask that you share no more than 100 listings from other Poshers’ closets so make sure you’re finding gems that mean something to you as well as fit the theme of the night’s party. Remember, the more variety of closets, sizes, styles etc. the better. These closets should be following the rules, but also have merchandise that you love. And don’t forget to share 5-10 items from your own closet!
Have Fun! This is your time to shine so have a good time. Share your closet to Instagram and Twitter, communicate with other Poshers in the app, and meet new users! Posh Parties are a great way to interact with the entire Community.
There’s no doubt about it—with Outside Lands in San Francisco just a few days away, we’ve got music on our mind. Besides crafting our perfect OSL playlist, we’re also planning our perfect #OOTDs for the three-day event. Luckily, we’ve got Amanda to turn to. Pair swingy little dresses with a pair of tights and boots, or snag the Simon & Garfunkel tee and rep everyone’s favorite soft rock duo. With plenty of funky finds in her closet, we’ll be more than ready to dance along to our favorite bands.
Anyone can spend money on fashion, but it takes a true stylista to master the art of dressing well on a budget. That’s where Kim of Sensible Stylista shines. The Baltimore-based blogger is a pro at integrating trends and personality with classic styles - all without blowing her budget. Knowing when to splurge and maintaining a rotating closet with Poshmark are just some of the keys to her success.
How do you describe your personal style and how has blogging contributed to it?
My personal style’s bold, vibrant, and fun - lots of loud prints and colors! Blogging’s inspired me to take risks. I’ve learned that it’s all about juxtaposition. For example, pairing a girly summer dress with an edgy faux-leather moto jacket - BAMF for sure.
What inspires your style?
All the gorgeous “everyday” women (all shapes and sizes of course) I see in real life and online.
You’re all about smart shopping, what advice do you have for those wanting to look fab on a budget?
Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty! Go straight to the sale and clearance racks in stores. Trust me, if you want a good deal, you gotta put in time and effort. It’s not easy finding deals you know! Also, be a SMART shopper - save on trendy pieces and splurge on timeless classics you’ll wear forever. Discount stores like TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshalls, Off Saks Fifth, etc., carry designer items for (much) less.
We love how you infuse trends into a classic wardrobe. What’s your secret?
Don’t try and wear too many trends at once, and make sure the trend suits you! Don’t wear or not wear something because it’s “in.” Make it your own! It’s all about confidence. Wear what makes you feel like a rockstar.
As a host of the It Girl Party tonight, what kind of style does an It Girl represent to you?
To me, an It Girl is effortless. She mixes coveted high-end designer faves with equally fabulous flea market finds. She lives and breathes steeze (style + ease).
We are back with a week full of shopping parties, including some all-new themes and new favorite brands to feature. Join style influencers Kim and Alex, along with our community hosts, during the evening parties for curated shopping picks. The most frequently asked questions about the Posh Party hosting program.
Q: I reached out asking to host a party but I haven’t heard back. Should I send another email? A: Once you reach out to us about hosting, your closet is sent over for consideration. Due to the high volume of interest we receive daily, it can take some time for our team to get to your request. If you haven’t heard back yet, sit tight and we will be in touch just as soon as we get a chance.
Q: Will creating a listing to campaign to become a host help my chances of becoming a host? A: The best way to become a Posh Party host is to make sure your closet meets our criteria and that you’ve reached out to us to express your interest.
Q: Should I have my PFFs write in to nominate me to become a host? A: It’s not necessary that you do. Simply letting us know you have an interest in hosting will get you on the list to be considered for the program.
Q: Will I need to select all of my party picks days before the party? A: You may browse listings at any time prior to or during the party for your listing selections. Some Poshers may find it useful to preselect an assortment of items to choose from by “liking” the listing. During the party, they share directly from their “My Likes” page. Another strategy is to share directly from listings that the Poshmark community is sharing to the party.
Q: Will I be with a co-host who is completely familiar with hosting? A: Your group of co-hosts will undoubtedly vary, as we mix and match new hosts with repeat ones from time to time. Don’t worry, though! Every host is provided with detailed instructions on what to do the night of the big party.
Q: Do I have to create a listing in my closet about the party? A: We do encourage co-hosts to share the information with their friends and family and that often means they want to share with their PFFs. It’s welcomed to have an announcement listing about your time to shine, but certainly not required.
Q: Do I have to log out and back in before the party starts? A: You can stay logged into your account as usual and tap on the “share to party” option to share to your Posh Party.
Q: Is it better to host on the web or with the mobile app? A: That one is totally up to personal preference! Some co-hosts prefer the web experience while some enjoy the freedom and mobility of the iOS or Android app. Others like a multi-device experience and will utilize a combination of phone, tablet and/or computer to get the job done.
Q: I’m getting a lot of tags from Poshers wanting me to choose their item as a host pick; is it expected that I share every item I’m tagged on? A: Not at all! It’s not encouraged that Poshers mass tag party hosts to be selected for a host pick. While you are certainly welcome to take a look to see if you’d like to share their items, we want to see your choice of items that represent you and the night’s theme.
Q: How exactly do I share my host picks to the party? Will the app look different? A: You will be added as an official host to your Posh Party the day before under the “Parties” tab. Because you are in our system as a host, anything you share to the party will automatically be displayed in the Host Picks Showroom.
Q: Do I have to share my listings right when the party starts? A: Feel free to share any time during the two hour party window! You can space things out and share the entire evening, or share at a time that is good for you.
Q: Do I need to leave a comment on each listing I share to the host picks showroom to let the owner know that I’ve chosen their item? A: No. Simply share your selection to the party; our system will automatically generate a congratulatory email to the lucky Posher.
Q: How do I assure my picks aren’t going to be the same as a co-hosts? A: There is no guarantee your selection won’t be selected by another co-host, however, a listing may only be shared to a Posh Party once.
Q: Is it okay to share more than one item from a particular closet? A: Absolutely! However, we ask that co-hosts share no more than three items from any one closet. Spread the love!
Q: Is it okay to share more than 100 listings to the party? A: If you share a few extra listings, it’s not a problem. However, we do ask that you stay at that limit so that the Host Picks Showroom remains a highly curated and shoppable selection. Too many listings in the showroom can come across as cluttered or even overwhelming to those trying to browse the listings.
Q: I had so much fun the first time I hosted. Can I host again? A: You bet! If it’s been at least three months since you last hosted, reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org to get on the list again. Keep in mind there are a limited number of spots available for repeat hosts so it may take some time before we can get you on the calendar.
Q: Can I host a morning or afternoon party instead of an evening party? A: Currently, only our evening parties are set up to accommodate party hosting.
Q: I’ve heard that hosts’ closets may not have other websites advertised in their bio or listings. Is this true? A: Closets are permitted to list other website URLs, as long as there is no active advertising to sell items off of the Poshmark platform.
Q: How come some Poshers get to host multiple parties while I’m still waiting to host my first? A: The Host program caters to all members of the Community, which means there will be users who are coming up on their next opportunity to host at the same time that a brand new user writes in to request to host for their first time. We look forward to providing every eligible user with an opportunity!
Q: Can I choose my co-hosts? A: We do our very best to accommodate co-host requests, but cannot guarantee that we’ll be able to schedule you with the Posher(s) you’ve requested.
Q: Can I choose my theme? A: Theme suggestions are always welcome, however, we have a team here at PMHQ that is responsible for all the Posh Party themes you see. As such, we cannot guarantee a specific theme for the night that you host.
Q: Is there a good place to see all of Poshmark’s rules and guidelines? A: We recommend making sure you’re familiar with the information on the following pages:
One of the most common questions we get at PMHQ is how to become a Posh Party host. The coveted spot not only allows for major closet visibility, but is also a fun way to shop and share with the Poshmark community. If you have ever been curious about how hosts are selected and what you can do to qualify, we’re here to dish on the details.
Your account should:
Be in good standing. As hosting is a highly-visible position, we’re looking for Poshers who know our rules and follow them. A few helpful hints? Do not have unsupported items or coordinate offline transactions.
Have 25+ listings. We love when closets are full and brimming with eye candy! It’s beneficial for Poshers shopping the parties to see your personal style, not only in the items you select as Host Picks, but also in the items you’ve loved and owned personally.
Be Active. Meet and follow Poshers. List items for sale. Browse, like and share your favorite listings. Getting connected and keeping in touch with the Community will make you a well-rounded Posher! At this time we ask that all co-hosts be a member of the Poshmark community for at least three months.
Have personality! Nothing makes us grin wider than clean, clear, creative Covershots (say that 10 times fast!). Wear your garment and take a selfie (or grab a friend to snap a pic for you!) or even create a layout of pretty items on an attractive, clean surface. And don’t forget the key to all amazing photos: good lighting! Bright, uncluttered images presents your listings in the best way and ensures they will capture the attention of potential buyers. Need inspiration? See our blog post on amazing covershots for ideas.
Does the above criteria sound like you? Then be sure to contact the proper channel:
Send email@example.com a friendly email letting us know you’re interested in participating in the Host Program–we’d love to hear from you!
Once we’ve received your email, we will add you to our list of interested candidates and reach out as soon as we’ve had a chance to take a look at your closet.
Please do wait patiently. We have a long list of eager candidates and are working hard daily to ensure every eligible Posher is given the opportunity to host.
Have you already hosted before but are ready to do so again? Great! We are always happy to have a Posher host again. We generally ask that you wait at least three months before reaching out to host again to allow time for other Poshers to get in on the fun. Once that time has passed, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll get you on our repeat host list. Please note that we do have a limited number of spots available for repeat hosts so it may take some time before we are able to get you a party date.
At Poshmark, we are all about taking a personal approach to fashion. Your closet is an expression of you, and the prospect of style is always evolving, yet maintaining a signature element. Taghrid Chaaban — fashion blogger, photographer and stylist — emulates this idea to a tee. Today, we’re chatting with Taghrid about her look, styling tips and her hosting the Back to Basics Posh Party tomorrow night.
How do you describe your personal style and how has blogging contributed to it?
I would say my personal style is a big mix of simple, quirky, classic, and vintage pieces all rolled up into crazy spontaneous outfits. I’m sort of random, and I’m attracted to shiny colorful things easily. I like having special items that have a lot of meaning and mixing them with basics that are always fresh regardless of the date.
Where do you go for style inspiration?
If you’re open to it, everything in life can be inspiring. I like to spend time alone people watching with headphones on, and a lot of times I end up getting hooked on something new that drives me creatively. I also really love vintage clothing and vintage boutiques, so I often go digging for new-but-old treasures and those pieces spark a bit of inspiration in me.
We love your looks and how each photo shoot shows personality and your signature style. How do you approach each shoot, especially since you’re a photographer as well?
I approach my poshmark shoots much like I would an e-commerce photoshoot in my professional life. Selling clothing over the net is all about conveying to the customer how it feels to be wearing the garments without them actually being able to touch. I try to keep things simple and clean. If it looks pretentious and overly done, I usually don’t use it. I also like to do everything really fast, a few minutes max for each item, for the sake of time but also to keep it fresh and natural.
With the fashion world focusing so much on trends, how would you encourage someone to create a look that stands out from the crowd?
I think each person should develop their own “trend” that is personal, and true to themselves. I don’t believe in fashion having an expiration date. If something you like works for you, I say embrace it fully until you naturally realize it’s time to let go.
I love basics, I think your closet should mostly be comprised of them. I love using basics as building blocks for great outfits that let my statement pieces shine. I will be featuring great classic items that can withstand trends and be truly timeless.
We are reveling in the dog days of summer and want all things beach-ready and warm weather appropriate. Fancy sandals, flowy tops and dresses, we’re coveting it all. Shop Heidi's closet for all your summer apparel needs!
We hope you’re rested from the weekend and are gearing up for another great week of Posh Parties! Have you ever wondered why some listings sell like a hotcakes and others sit in your closet longer? Today’s Posh Tip explores marketing your closet for the right time of year.
We think it’s valuable to keep in mind the current season, the upcoming season and the overall seasonality of your garments. When listing items in your closet, take into account what the Community may be shopping for in the coming weeks.
A helpful hint: ask yourself what you’ve been shopping for lately. Your thin, lightweight tops, silky shorts and strappy sandals will likely get more interest during the warmer months. When you consider that people are looking to buy in advance of the upcoming season (about six to eight weeks), in- and pre-season items can call for a higher price as they’re more in demand.
At the same time, if you’d really like to move your inventory of thick, chunky sweaters and knee-high leather boots in those same warmer months, consider lowering your price to attract buyers. Nothing is more drool-worthy than a gorgeous, warm coat or jacket with an equally enticing price tag.
Mirror, mirror on the wall, what is our favorite trend of all? The favorite trend of right now, at least, is mirror print. There’s something fun yet sophisticated about the colorful kaleidoscope pattern when combined with a sleek silhouette. It’s easy to get the look when you shop these closets and more on Poshmark!
By now, we all know the importance of an A+ covershot. It’s your first, and sometimes only, chance to get someone to notice the item you’re selling–so you’d better make it count! A well-styled snapshot just may be your ticket to your next Poshmark sale. Looking for a bit of inspiration? Peep these pretty photos that caught our eye lately and be sure to follow our Covershot inspiration board on Pinterest!
As hard as it is to say goodbye to the weekend, it always helps knowing there’s a full week of shopping parties ahead. This week we have great brands and trends, as well as curated hosting from style influencers Angela, Emily, Sarah, Darci and Jessica, along with our fabulous community hosts. So let’s get shopping!
1. Excuse us while we squeal with excitement over our latest press feature in the New York Times! On Thursday, Poshmark had the spotlight in the stylish pages of the Style section. We loved reading the stories from our community and Team Posh, and especially enjoyed this quote from Rachel Zoe:
“Technology like Poshmark is completely changing the way women discover fashion, creating the ultimate virtual closet where women can draw inspiration from each other. It’s not about selling to customers, it’s about giving them the tools to engage and inspire each other to bring fashion into their lives in new ways.”
2. The love from the Big Apple continued as Poshmark was featured on FOX NYC.
3. In other news, we’re happy to announce the latest feature, Price Drop Notifications! Now, when a seller drops the price of a listing by 10% or more, Poshmark will notify every user who has liked the item directly in their Poshmark newsfeed. We will also send them a push notification and an email to the address associated with their account (click here to learn how to manage notifications). Only one notification will be sent per week on a liked item, so as not to overwhelm users.

The best kind of closets are the kind where you can find an entire head-to-toe look with just a few taps on your phone. That’s exactly why we love Christine’s closet. She’s got the casual cool look down pat—think fun crop tops for a poolside barbecue, easy crossbody bags to tote around town, and sandals perfect for showing off a bright summer pedi. Take note for your next summer soiree and get to shopping, stat!
Today we’re chatting with Ediza of Healthy Girl Fashion about her closet-selling strategies. Utilizing the new Price Drop Notification feature, she made 47 sales in 24 hours! Plus, tonight she’s hosting our Boho Babe Posh Party at 7pm PST, so be sure to tag her in your related listings and shop her host picks!
Hi Ediza! How long have you been on Poshmark and what led you to the app?
I’ve been an active Posher for a little over a year now. I initially downloaded the app and didn’t know what I was doing. After I had a garage sale where I was selling my designer denim for $10 and no one wanted to buy it, my friend suggested that I should start utilizing the Poshmark app and for sure they would sell, and she even said I could probably get more. So I did, and I sold all my jeans for a little over $10 and I was instantly hooked. That’s when I started selling not only my clothes but items for other family members as well.
How much have you made through Poshmark?
A little over $6,000, but I wasn’t as active in my closet as before. Since I’ve been devoting more of my time into my closet, I’ve been able to increase my sales. The bulk of my earnings were literally within the last 6 months.
What strategies have proven most successful in getting your items sold?
I share a lot, whether it’s my closet or through the feed. I also follow members who are active and follow the Poshmark guidelines. I believe that if you are consistently sharing your own closet at least 3 to 4 times a day you are giving people a look into your closet, which will boost interest as well as boost your sales.
What is your approach to pricing, both setting initial prices and adjusting them?
It really depends. If I purchase an item to resell, then I have to stay within my own guidelines so that I don’t go negative on a sale. If the item does not belong to me, then any offer will be passed along to the owner of that piece. I know some people purposefully place their items a bit higher so that when people ask the famous question “What’s your lowest?” they are able to accommodate that request. Right now I am at a time where I can be really flexible with my inventory since I am really trying to downsize. I’ve taken off up to $20 on bundles or been able to lower the amount to offset the shipping cost for the buyer, but it is usually what I believe is fair for the buyer as well as fair for myself as the seller.
How has the price drop feature affected your sales?
The price drop feature has changed by sales immensely. There was a period where I wasn’t getting any sales for about a week and it seemed really dry at the time. I remember that it was a Thursday and on a whim I thought I should just lower half my closet anywhere from $5-$35 each item, whatever I could afford. Then orders started pouring in, one right after another. People were bundling like crazy, and I was non-stop all night! Within 24 hours I had sold 47 items in my closet and my packages were sky high. It was one of the greatest Poshmark sales that I’ve had and it was great! Now I wait till Thursday or Friday to lower my closet since it’s one of the busiest times of the week for shopping.
I love the new feature; now if I decide to have a sale, I don’t need to make a listing to show I’m having a sale and hope people see it. If I lower an item, there will be people who are actually interested in the item, getting a notification so the likeliness of it selling it is way higher!
What advice would you give to other sellers?
Lower your items on Thursday or Friday, since that’s when people get paid. Share your little heart out, and don’t forget to share your closet, it’s your way of marketing yourself. Lastly, make sure to answer your buyers questions in a timely manner. I’ve lost a few sales just by not answering questions right away.
Anything else you have to share about your Poshmark experience?
Well I went to PoshFest last year which was a BLAST so of course this year I will be attending as well. I have never in my life felt so attached to something that I originally thought I wouldn’t be noticed among its users. Right now, other users in my Los Angeles region know me and even some of the staff at PMHQ which is an incredible feeling! The Poshmark community is so wonderful, it really sends out such a positive message of women supporting other women, which is why I started my blog HealthyGirlFashion.com to help support other poshers as they are getting acquainted with the app. The team is so unbelievably approachable and they are the sweetest, genuine people, bar none. What’s even better is that the CEO Manish will make time for each and every Posher to talk to them, listen to their needs, and pose for pictures with each and every girl. I am very pleased with the app and all the changes and the opportunities that Poshmark gives to its users and can’t wait to continue further as the company grows. Furthermore, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank team Poshmark for featuring me on their blog and the honor of hosting this upcoming Posh Party. All their hard work and efforts they put together to bring the community closer, to involve users, and to create wonderful events is really remarkable.
It’s great to be back with a full week of fabulous Posh Parties ahead! This week we have the oh-so-stylish Ediza hosting along with our community hosts. "American women put about $1 trillion worth of fashion into their closets every three years and almost a third of that is never worn. Enter the closet-sharing economy. Closet-sharing is arguably the fastest growing sector of the sharing economy and quickly changing the way Americans shop."
3. Poshmark was also recently featured on NBC Baltimore. Even newscasters need a closet refresh, too!
4. Wednesdays at noon PST is a fun time when we get chatty with StyleCaster’s #stylechat on Twitter. This week we gabbed about personal style tips, palazzo pants and sass-tastic graphic tees.
5. Want to know a little secret? Teamposhmark is on a certain app. We’ll give you a hint:
We’ve created this nifty badge to share in your Poshmark closet, on your blog sidebar or even on your body as a tattoo. Why not? It is sure to be that epic. If you need more convincing, check out the pictures from PoshFest 2013.
So right click the badge, save to your desktop and start sharing! When adding to your closet, set the brand to PoshFest so you can see who else is going. And don’t forget to tag your PFFs in the app and on social to make sure they’re going, too!
Team Posh is busy finalizing the details and we’ll share ASAP. So hurry and register by July 20th to save 20% off the regular ticket price!

We’re all a little sad for the challenge to end, but are planning another one. So stay tuned and keep living and sharing #ThePoshLife!

There’s only one thing better than getting a #PoshFind delivered to your door, and that’s being able to send one off to a newfound PFF! Here are some tips and tricks for making your #PoshPackage oh-so-sweet:
Whether sleek and simple is your style or you love all things color, let your personal style shine through. A twist of colorful ribbon, a touch of rustic twine, wrapping paper, customized stickers—little touches like this can make all the difference when shipping off your buyer’s new #PoshFind. The icing on the cake? A handwritten thank you note, straight from you to your new PFF!
Plus, don’t forget to snap a pic and share on social with #PoshPackaging to show off your fine work!
Be sure to choose the right kind of packaging for your order. Shipping envelopes can work for smaller items that can be folded, such as tops or skirts. When it comes to shipping out that delicate necklace, a pair of sunglasses, or a structured bag, boxes always work best. Just be sure to choose a size that best fits your needs, and don’t forget to add padding when necessary! Wrapping up your item in tissue paper doesn’t just look pretty, it also helps protect it. We’ve also love using magazine pages, torn straight from our fave fashion mags, to add a little bit of padding to a package.
We know how easy it is to mix up an item or two when you’re packaging up multiple orders. Here’s our little secret: Post-It notes! Just jot down the item (or items) in the order on a Post-It note, stick it on the shipping label right after you print it out, and double check your boxes right before you tape them up. That way, you can make sure that your West Coast PFF gets those shoes she’s been eyeing while your East Coast PFF gets her bag. A little reminder goes a long way!
Nothing says freedom quite like a three-day weekend spent celebrating with patriotic pride. And what wardrobe staple is more American than blue jeans? So for this installment of Wish List Wednesday we are sharing our favorite denim deals.
Summer is in full swing and what better way to celebrate the season than by filling your closet with bright, cheerful colors? Holly’s closet really caught our eye this week, not just because of her clear, bright covershots, but for her assortment of colorful wardrobe options as well! Whether you prefer to add your pop of color in dresses, tops, or accessories, you’ll be sure to discover your next #PoshFind in this Posher’s closet. Just make sure you head over to shop soon before your favorite picks are swooped up!
Now that we’ve shared a closet that we are crushing on, it’s your turn! These Poshers loved their PoshFinds so much that they created #ClosetCrush listings to show them off and say thanks. Make one today and you could be featured!
It’s time to kick off another week of shopping parties! This time around we not only have fabulous style influencers Ashley, Melissa and Tracy and our lovely community hosts, but we also have some PMHQers joining in the fun. We thought we’d have them share some of their insights into all things Work Week Chic before getting along with the week’s schedule.
Favorite trend of the moment: My favorite trend of the moment is definitely loose trousers/joggers. They are so effortlessly chic to wear from the office to a night out with friends. I love how you can pair them with a blazer during the work week and switch up the look with a denim jacket for casual weekend wear.
Your approach to infusing personality into work wear: I also love infusing my personality into work wear with accessories such as statements necklaces, pave link bracelets, and stackable midi rings.
What you’re looking to feature as a host for the Work Week Chic Posh Party: I’m looking to feature pops of color and unique prints on tops and bottoms. I’m also keeping an eye out for trendy mules and peep toe booties for the warm weather!
Favorite trend of the moment: Mules and clogs.
Your approach to infusing personality into work wear: Working at PMHQ means working with an office full of stylish ladies! I gravitate toward pieces that are sleek, understated, and minimalist—that way, I can get dressed in the mornings without spending too much time mulling over my closet. (In other words: all black everything.)
What you’re looking to feature as a host for the Work Week Chic Posh Party: For tonight’s party, I’ll be on the hunt for pieces that I can wear during the workweek and on the weekends. Think comfortable shoes (I’ve been loving mules lately!), bags big enough to stow my Macbook Air, and sharp blazers to pull together an outfit instantly.
Favorite trend of the moment: Mules + pineapples! I am loving that the whole office has pineapple fever!
Your approach to infusing personality into work wear: I’m all about tomboy fashion with a feminine flare. I’ll pair my favorite loose trousers with a tank, and chunky heels, then top it off with an oversized blazer.
What you’re looking to feature as a host for the Work Week Chic Posh Party: I’ll be looking for items with a standout details - unexpected studs, interesting panels, intricate geometric patterns. Oh, and shoes. I’m shoe obsessed!!
Your approach to infusing personality into work wear: I like to add a pop of color or edge into my work wear. A pair of studded shoes or a bright lipstick! I think Gwyneth Paltrow puts it best: “Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin. That, or a kick-ass red lipstick.”
What you’re looking to feature as a host for the Work Week Chic Posh Party: Pieces that are sophisticated, but still shows personality and individuality.
1. Thanks to everyone who came out to our LIVE Posh Party in NYC! We loved seeing your Summer in the City style and will post the pics to our Facebook page on Monday. Head there to check it out and be sure to tag yourself!
We are excited to announce our latest Poshmark feature: Rate Your Purchase! With this new tool, we’re empowering sellers to build trust and be recognized for providing an exemplary, five-star shopping experience for their buyers.
So, what exactly is Rate Your Purchase?
This new feature allows buyers to rate their purchase experience with 1 to 5 stars. If the rating is four stars or less, buyers can suggest up to six ways the seller could improve: item description, item cleanliness, packaging, ship time, seller responsiveness or other.
When can a buyer rate a purchase?
Buyers have up to 30 days to rate their purchase after the order is accepted or returned to the seller due to not being as described. The Rate Your Purchase page can be accessed from the order details page. Any purchases within the last 30 days of the launch of this feature are also eligible for review.
How can a buyer rate a purchase?
After a buyer accepts an order, they will automatically see the Rate Your Purchase page. If the order was auto-accepted three days after delivery or an item not as described issue was resolved, the buyer can choose Rate Your Purchase from the order details page.
How are ratings displayed?
Ratings information is displayed privately in My Closet Stats. Sellers and buyers can also see their individual ratings details under My Purchases and My Sales. While our plan is to have an average rating score visible for everyone within closets in the near future, we wanted to give the community a chance to get used to the ratings feature before making the information public.
How are ratings communicated to buyers and sellers?
Buyers receive an email and newsfeed reminder one day after an order is auto-accepted or an item not as described issue is resolved. Sellers receive a push notification and newsfeed alert when they receive a rating.
Can I edit or appeal a rating?
No, buyers aren’t able to edit their ratings and sellers can’t appeal ratings. We expect the Poshmark community will almost always be fair and helpful when leaving ratings. However, there may be times when a seller feels a specific rating is unfair. Their average rating will reflect the great experience they deliver to buyers.
We are excited for this new feature as we know it will shine a bright light on the amazing purchase experience all of our Poshers deliver every day. Rate Your Purchase will strengthen the trust between buyers and sellers that encourages everyone to shop the closets of their stylemates again and again.
We consider ourselves pretty savvy shoppers at PMHQ. We scroll through Showrooms, consult with our PFFs over purses, and we’re never shy about asking sellers a question or two over an item we’ve been eyeing.
Whether you’re finally ready to make that Like yours or you’re indulging in an impulse buy, here are a few questions to ask the seller before you hit that Buy button.
Can you measure it for me?
It goes without saying—fit can be tricky! What fits your PFF perfectly might look completely different on you. Instead of asking how a seller how that dress or top fits, we have a better alternative: Ask your seller for exact measurements. Getting specific measurements from a seller for areas like the inseam, bust, and waist can help give you a better idea of if an item will fit you just the way you want it.
Can you model the item?
If stock photos or photos of the item on a hanger leave you scratching your head, don’t be shy about asking your seller if she can model an item for you. This way, you can see multiple angles of that dress you’ve been eyeing.
What color is this?
Lusting over a pair of fierce heels but aren’t quite sure if it’s the color you’ve been looking for? Ask the seller to take a photo of the item under natural or outdoor lighting, with no filters applied to the photo. Having a clear, well-lit photo to reference can make all the difference when you’re looking for an item in your favorite hue.
Does it zip, button, or snap?
Little details like closures and hardware can be easy to overlook! If you hate fumbling over buttons or want to make sure that the bag snaps shut, simply ask your seller for specifics.
Is the dust bag, original box, or belt included?
If you’re buying a pair of shoes or a bag, it’s always a good idea to ask the seller if they still have the dust bag or original box. Or maybe you want to recreate your Closet Crush’s awesome styling in her Covershot—don’t forget to ask her if that belt or sash she cinched the waist with is included. That way, you and the seller are completely clear on what should be packaged up before you complete the transaction.
Last but not least, don’t forget to leave a note thanking your seller for the extra time and help! Even if you decide an item doesn’t work for you, you might just gain a brand new PFF.
We’re jet-setting across the country to bring a LIVE Posh Party to the East Coast. New York City, are you ready for us?
Joining the Poshmark team will be five fabulous co-hosts, each with an impeccable eye for style. These local NYC fashion bloggers style such great looks that we had to share some of our favorites. Plus, if you see your stylemate, don’t forget you can shop their closets! Good style is better shared, don’t you think?
Naty has the touch when it comes to making trend pieces seamlessly integrate into her wardrobe and making them her own. These high-waisted floral shorts are so chic and sleek when styled with a blazer and ankle-strap black sandals.
We love the opportunity to try out a new trend, especially when it doesn’t break the bank. Which is why we were thrilled to come across Susy’s adorable closet on Poshmark. Posh Tip: How to Describe the Condition of Your Item
It should be no surprise that we here at PMHQ are seriously into shopping. One upside to this—besides a cute pair of shoes, of course—is that inevitably an item or two (or three!) will make its way to our own Poshmark closets once our actual closets start to overflow.
Other than creating an awesome Covershot, one important thing to keep in mind is how to appropriately describe the condition of an item. Whether it’s that purse you just had to have one minute but ended up sitting in your closet the next or a summer dress that you’re ready to say goodbye to, we’ve got some tips on how to best describe your item’s condition.
Have an impulse purchase you never got around to wearing? If it’s still got tags attached, it’s NWT. New With Tags items are brand new, never worn, with the tags still attached. Is your item is brand new but has no tags? Easy—that’s NWOT (New Without Tags).
(Also, if some of these acronyms have you scratching your head, find a helpful list of oft-used abbreviations in our Poshmark glossary.)
We’ve all been there—sometimes you wear an item, only to find it just doesn’t work for you. If something has been worn once or twice but has little to no signs of wear, it’s Like New. Even if you’ve worn an item just once, it’s always a good idea to give it a thorough inspection, just in case.
Have a top or pair of shoes that no longer makes it into your #ootd rotation? Your preloved item could be another Posher’s new favorite. Items in excellent condition are gently used, with little signs of wear. Just be sure to include any details that your buyer should take note of before she hits that “Buy” button—examples include any pilling, pulls, or loose stitches.
Time to let go of an old favorite? Be sure to give it a thorough inspection and let your buyer know of any signs of wear, fading or discoloration, and additional details that should be noted. Be sure to double and triple check the item—sometimes it’s easy to look over little details like seams, straps, and zippers. If you need to show a lot of detail, create a second listing for your item.
You’re invited to a LIVE Posh Party next week! Grab a girlfriend (or two!) and join the Poshmark team, your blogger co-hosts, and local Poshers for a fun night of shopping, cocktails, giveaways, mingling and more.
What: “Summer in the City” LIVE Posh Party

We are total suckers for a well-styled Covershot. Case in point: Huilin’s closet! Not only is her closet full of unique and stylish finds at too-good-to-miss prices, but her images are seriously beautiful. Stop by her closet now for covershot inspiration and to score a pretty new something for your wardrobe!
Now that we’ve shared one of our favorite closets, we want to share some of yours. Did you have an amazing Posh Find from a new PFF? Share the gratitude with a #ClosetCrush listing. You could be featured!
Here we are with another week of Posh Parties featuring deals that you won’t want to miss! Plus, we have amazing style influencers - Cris, Shay and Jessica - that will be curating their favorite finds along with our fabulous community hosts.
1. We Posh hard, we play hard! The Poshmark team took to a lakeside park this week for some team building fun in the sun. We’re a growing bunch that bonded over relay racing, pedal-boating and an epic scavenger hunt. Cheers to you, Poshers, who are at the heart of what we do!
2. Don’t miss a Posh Party ever again, thanks to our friends at Ringly, which launched their stylish smart ring this week. It allows you to stay on top of your Poshmark and other digital activity, notifying you so that you’re not glued to your phone 24/7.
3. NYC Poshers, save the date! We’re headed your way on June 26th. More details to come. Hope to see you there!
Poshing can be a serious (and seriously fun!) full-time addiction. But with all the sharing, discovering, Posh Partying, and PFF-bonding, we wanted to give our awesome community a quick refresher for a commonly asked question: Is this okay to list?
Have a new lipstick that you’ve never touched or a brand new eyeshadow palette that you know just won’t go with your coloring? No problem! List it on Poshmark for some other lucky Posher to take home! Just keep in mind that used makeup is unsupported—that includes products that have been swatched or tested (even just once!).
The best kind of weather is swimsuit weather. For safety reasons, used swimsuits are unsupported, but brand new with tags swimwear is more than welcome to list. Remember that impulse buy bikini that’s stashed away, tags still attached, in your drawers somewhere? No sweat! List it—then share it as you sip on a tall glass of lemonade by the pool.
Perfume and nail polish
As much as PMHQ goes crazy for a good mani and some fierce nail art, nail polish isn’t allowed on Poshmark. Any liquid that contains alcohol is considered hazardous to ship through USPS Priority Mail, which is the type of mail that Posh Post uses. This includes nail polish, perfume, and hairspray.
Though we love our gadgets and devices as much as the next person, Poshmark does not support the sale of any electronic item. That includes headphones, hair tools, and iPad keyboards. Here’s a helpful hint: if it charges, requires batteries, or plugs into something, it’s considered an electronic.
Have any questions about what is or what isn’t allowed on Poshmark? Just shoot an email to email@example.com and we’ll be more than happy to answer any questions.
Tropical prints are back in a big way. With new takes on vintage prints and styling this summer staple, you are sure to be looking more on-trend than on-a-tour-bus. After perusing Pinterest for inspiration, we spotted this amazing tropical print we set to discover the goodies awaited us in some of our favorite closets.
So grab a paper umbrella bedecked beverage and let’s get shopping!
We’re wild for fun and eye-catching prints at PMHQ so it’s no wonder that we fell in love with A’s closet when we stumbled across it. Fully stocked with everything from florals to animal prints (and a whole lot more!), we couldn’t help but to be inspired to dream up new ways to mix prints. Not to mention that we are completely enamored of the highly stylized covershots used to display the threads in her closet. You know the drill: get on over and shop before your favorite piece is gone!
